With POSTCARDS FROM ITALY, we at Carrani Tours invite travellers, customers, travel agents and our social media community to share a photograph taken during their travels across Italy. Photos will be posted on our social media channels.
Show us a different side of Italy
We are looking for images that celebrate a more authentic and less familiar Italy: places away from the most popular tourist routes that deserve to be discovered, protected and shared. The project aims to inspire a more conscious way of travelling while raising awareness about overtourism and the importance of exploring Italy’s lesser-known destinations.
Selection criteria
The photographs will be evaluated by an internal team based on the following criteria:
- originality of the location featured;
- relevance to the theme of “lesser-known Italy”;
- visual quality of the photograph;
- evocative power of the image;
- the short story accompanying the photograph;
- ability to showcase alternative destinations away from major tourist flows.

In addition, 12 photographs will be selected for the first CARRANI TOURS CALENDAR (2027), dedicated to Italy’s hidden gems. Each winning photograph will represent one month of the year, creating a visual journey through the country’s most authentic places and stories.
The selected photographers will each receive two complimentary copies of the calendar.
How to Enter
Participation in the contest is free of charge and open to everyone, including amateur, aspiring and professional photographers, with no age or nationality restrictions.
To enter, participants must send an email to comunicazione@carrani.com, attaching one or more photographs and including the title of each image, their given name, family name, profession, and city of residence.
For large files, we recommend using the free cloud transfer service like WeTransfer. The photographs do not need to be previously unpublished. Photographs submitted for consideration for the 2027 calendar must not include any signatures or watermarks. The photographs selected for the calendar will be accompanied by the author’s given name, family name, and photograph title, and will be presented according to a consistent graphic layout. Photographs containing other logos or trademarks added for advertising purposes will not be considered. All photographs submitted to the contest will be reviewed and evaluated by a qualified jury composed of industry experts.
Carrani Tours employees may submit photographs, but they will not be eligible to take part in the final selection of the 12 images featured in the calendar. The organisers directly involved in the project are not eligible to participate in the contest.
Submission period and photograph requirements
Participants may submit their photographs from 15 July until 25 October 2026, no later than 11:59 p.m. Photographs in both landscape and portrait orientation are accepted in JPG, PNG or TIFF format.
For inclusion in the calendar, please note that only landscape-oriented photographs will be considered . They must meet the following specifications:
- minimum resolution of 300 dpi;
- landscape orientation with a 3:2 aspect ratio;
- minimum size of 30 × 20 cm.
Photographs that do not meet these requirements will automatically be excluded from the calendar selection. Nontheless, they may still be published on the Carrani Tours website and related social media channels.
